Policy Update

Export Reefer Earliest Receiving Date

Dear Valued ONE Customer,

Please be advised that effective April 1, 2026, Ocean Network Express (ONE) will implement an updated Carrier’s Refrigerated Earliest Receiving Date (Reefer Line ERD) policy for export operating refrigerated containers across all U.S. and Canada coastal locations.

The Reefer Line ERD Policy is as follows:

Container Type

Current Reefer ERD Policy

New Reefer Line ERD Policy

Operating Refrigerated Containers

Based on first available return date per marine terminal

The later of the following two dates:

  • 5 calendar days prior to vessel cutoff date; or
  • The first available return date per Marine Terminal

For containers received before the Carrier’s Reefer ERD,  demurrage will begin on the first calendar day after container gate-in and continue through the day of vessel loading or scheduled berthing at the load port, whichever is earlier. The Carrier’s Reefer ERD and scheduled berthing at the load port will be fixed at the time of empty container gate out.

* This policy applies to all cargo received at the origin terminal facility on or after April 1, 2026.

** Does not apply to dry containers or other specialized equipment types unless otherwise specified.
*** Gate-in prior to the Line’s ERD, even if the terminal is accepting cargo, may lead to additional charges and/or demurrage. Any expenses incurred as a result will be billed to the Merchant’s account.

Should you have any questions regarding how this change impacts your upcoming shipments, please contact our customer service representative.

Sincerely,

Ocean Network Express (North America) Inc.
