Transatlantic 4 (AT4) Update
New Halifax Port Call - Imports to USA Requirements
Dear Valued ONE Customers,
With the recent addition of Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada) as the first North American port call to our Transatlantic 4 (AT4) service, we would like to advise you of the latest Canada customs reporting requirements for import shipments discharging at a US port.
The Canada Foreign Cargo Remaining on Board (FROB) filing is required for all cargo that will remain on board the vessel at a Canadian port. ONE will transmit the FROB manifest for the BCO (Beneficial Cargo Owner) and MBL (Master Bill of Lading).
Important note for NVOCCs:
Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) must also report their House Bill of Lading (HBL) details to Canada Customs.
If the NVOCC is unable to report HBL details, ONE will manifest the FROB filing on their behalf. However, the NVOCC must provide the HBL details before the 24-hour Automated Manifest System (AMS) documentation deadline.
Requests for HBL transmission after the 24-hour AMS documentation deadline will not be accommodated.
Please refer to the codes below for FROB filing:
- ONE Carrier code: 919J
- Customs Port code: 0009 for Halifax
- Discharge Sub-location code: 2036 for PSA Halifax Atlantic Hub
Sincerely,
Ocean Network Express (North America) Inc.
