ONE EC2 service will return transiting through the Panama Canal both eastbound and westbound, beginning with the Tayma Express 0029E.

As mentioned in our previous advisory, due to uncertainty and high risk surrounding the Red Sea, ONE will continue to reroute vessels via the Cape of Good Hope. As a result of this large deviation in routing, it is not sustainable to continue offering direct EC5 service of North America Exports to Jebel Ali.

Singapore, 17th January 2024 – Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) has signed Ship Building Contracts with Jiangnan Shipyard and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for a total construction of twelve 13,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ships. Each shipyard will build six vessels and are all scheduled to be delivered from 2027. This significant milestone represents ONE’s inaugural fleet of methanol-dual fuel vessels and plays a key role in reaching ONE’s sustainable goals as part of the Green Strategy.

Due to the added costs of precautionary measures, ONE will implement a Red Sea Diversion Surcharge (RDS) for all exports from the Canadian / US Eastern Seaboard and the US Gulf Coast to the Middle East / Indian Subcontinent locations. The surcharge will go into effect January 2nd, 2024 and will remain until further notice.
