Canadian Rail Update #4
Dear Valued Customers,
With the recent announcement from Canadian National Railway (“CN”) and Canadian Pacific Railroad (“CPKC”) regarding returning to work, Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (“ONE”) would like to update the contingency plans & restrictions that were previously in place, effective from 27 August.
NA Exports from North America:
- Detention for Canadian rail cargo: ONE will restart the detention clock for the rail locations where rail reservations (RVs’) are available. As previously mentioned, containers booked for return at Canadian coastal terminals were subject to standard detention.
- New bookings via Canadian rails: ONE will resume accepting new bookings moving on the Canadian rails.
- Bookings for US origins routing via Canadian gateways are resumed.
NA Imports to North America:
- New bookings via Canada rail (Live Reefer / DG): ONE will resume taking bookings.
- If you have previously requested a change of destination and wish to reverse this request, please contact our Cargo Management teams/Customer Service.
